So Autlan now has a modern movie theater. There has always been a local movie theater that plays one movie for a week maybe two if it is popular movie. We had heard this past year that there was a new one going to open up just outside of town. There is always rumors of various different places opening up here in Autlan. I have heard that there was going to be a Burger King and a Pizza Hut were going to come. That has not happened and it is something I have heard for over 3 years. Autlan still maintains a small town feel even there is over 50,000 people here. There is only one chain restaurant but is locally owned called Pollo Feliz (happy chicken). But this past month, the new movie theater open up. It has stadium seeing as well as air conditioning. We went to the movie last week. Wow was that ever nice. Tickets were 38 pesos which is about $3 dollars. After the movie the sent you out some side doors to exit the building. Out the doors and there is a huge John Deere tractor right on the other side of the fence about 10 feet away from the doors. It really keeps it in perspective as how small and rural our town really is. Also right next to the movie theater is a Auto Zone motor parts store that opened up as well. Our first American chain in Autlan. I never thought that would ever happen.
