This is how tall the doorway actually is compared to me who is 6'. This past week after living in our house for close to 3 years now, I finally put in some protection for my head. This picture explains it. Where I am standing is the doorway from our bathroom to our hallway that leads to our kitchen. This house is over 100 years old. Needless to say the people who build the house were shorter in stature. From the photo you can see where my head actually is. It is perfect for Jessie but me on the other hand, have had difficulties. For the first year there was always a mark on the top of my head. It looked like I had been a bar fight or something where someone hit the top of my head. When we went home on furlough, we purchased some foam corners for babies. Hopefully with this in place it will allow for smoother transitions between the bathroom area and hallway. As I write this, I am at least reminded of Mike Weaks, who visited this past January. He saw stars a few times walking through this door way.

Guitar class at our house Over the past month I have been looking over our website trying to see how we could make it better. I noticed that it was taking a while for thing to load not only on our main page here but our picture page as well. I realized that over the past year all the post would compound and take longer and longer to load. So here is the change that will hopefully help some of you who have older computers. My hope is that it will help in the time that things take to load and make it easier to move around our website. Above you will see blog updates, if you move your mouse to click on it an option will drop down for Post before June 2012. That is our previous posts that all are on the same page. Now after 10 post they will go into archives. It is also the same for the pictures. You will see the same when you click on photos. The rain is here! We have been enjoying a few days this week of rain. Today it is sprinkling constantly. We actually haven't had much rain during the day. It has rained about 3 times during the evening. It really takes the heat out of the air. To talk about the rain is easy for a Minnesotan, but really it effects everything here. A lot of people walk to work so it makes thing a bit difficult for people during the rainy season. The picture above, is of Jessie's guitar class. She has been teaching some youth how to play the guitar. It is great to see the growth over the past 2 months of being gone how they have been practicing. They all really want to play the guitar so all of them are just soaking up everything that Jessie teaches them. It is encouraging to see them so eager to want to learn so they are able to lead worship. They are learning to play worship songs. Last night, I was able to share at Cread in El Grullo (a rehab facility). It was a bit different this time. I guess they have excepted more people. I believe there are over 60 people living there now. I am not even going to try to describe what it looks like there, but there are two levels. There is a railing so that you can look over the side and look down on the first level. There was about 20 people sitting in the lower level and about 25 people sitting on the second level where I share from. It was incredible to be able to share with these men about the story of Lazarus being raised from the dead. Many of these men have never really very many stories of the bible. When I asked them if they knew the story of Mary and Martha when Mary sat at Jesus' feet. Only one guy knew the story. Out of 60 people only one had heard the story of Lazarus being raised from the dead. So I am dealing with a group of people with very little Bible knowledge. Where do I speak from next week??? This past week, I was asked to speak with the Cread in Autlan this coming Friday. They said I have 2 hours to share from 6-8 PM and I believe it is on a weekly basis. I am still praying about, if I should take this on because in the coming months, I need to prepare for English classes we are teaching at the beginning of September. I am just going to take it one day at a time. If it is not what I am suppose to do, God will confirm it. God tells us to bring truth. That is all I am trying to do, bring people to the truth. May God receive the glory for HIS work. |
