Month of celebrations and sickness

Every year we deal with the same issues during this time. Being exhausted from various events that take place through out the month. During the week before Christmas, I think I counted 6 different parties and events in just one week. We always have a church Christmas party as well where we have a tradition of playing bingo to win prizes. We invited others from a different church to come and celebrate with us. It is truly a fun time of fellowship to celebrate Christmas together. It also gives us opportunities to have celebrations in this culture without any alcohol which is usually apart of the celebration. We have various new people coming to the church, who for the most part have never been to a Christian church party. We have been invited to a few parties in the past where one of the main things you do is drink various different alcoholic beverages all night long. With our own Christmas party we are able to have a good time without getting drunk at all. In this culture, this is not the norm.

Anna and Levi both were sick for almost a week before they were feeling up to moving around. Then of course as with most families, they past it on to me! For about a week, I was popping ibuprofen every 4 hours to keep me some what able to function. I couldn't say that it was a bad sickness No fever. You just felt blah. No energy for anything. At times my body would ache all over. So when we had our Christmas party, I crashed for the next few days. On Christmas morning, I was feeling ok but not up to doing a whole lot. A day or two after, my energy returned as I was now thinking about what house project I could start on. I am back to normal now. But now Jessie is sick in bed. She seems to be worse in that she gets a fever and has the chills. So now I am on parent/house duty while she recovers. This means feeding the family and getting the girls to do some home schooling. We are trying to get a head because Jessie's parents are coming in a few weeks. There won't be a much homeschooling going on when grandma and grandpa are staying at our house. Levi, Lilly and Aletta all have a light cold right now, so lots of tissue blowing. Please pray for our health.
