These past couple of weeks God has been teaching me about what I need to be giving my time to. It is always the battle you have when you are in ministry. What is the most fruitful? What needs the most attention? It is a never ending process. Over the past couple of week, I have been feeling I need to get back to just spending time with some of the men of the church. I see the need that they desperately need time to talk and have someone stand and pray with them. I have started to do a few studies at different times one-on-one with three different men. Each a different point spiritually. I see that is important, to just pray with them and encourage them. Jorge is one of whom, I have started meeting one-on-one with. We are doing a study of just the beginning basics. It is a starting point. As we do the study is is just the diving board into more theological discussions. This past study, I brought up the question about if you die before repenting of a particular sin? Say you commit suicide, do you go to hell? I am not going answer all the theological aspects of this question right now but it is a challenge to enunciate what scripture teaches on the subject. Does salvation depend on repentance? Can you lose your salvation? How does this relate to sharing the gospel message with others? These are just a few of the questions that I have been grappling with. I am not finished learning about what scripture says that is for sure. I see my need to study. I want to know what the bible says. It may be contrary to what I have been taught but is that not what we are called to do? Search the scriptures. Know what Jesus said. Is this not the goal of being a follower of Jesus? We all have ideas and opinions. Do they lineup with Jesus taught? I have been feeling spiritually that God is bringing me into a season of growth. I need more time in the word. More time to have the truth of scripture penetrate my heart. This is where I am at.
